Can I Die or Be Killed?

The thought of all your hard labor, creating your avatar, molding him or her to the image you want suddenly blindsides you, when your new friend asks, "Can I die or be killed?".

Images off the hours you've spent wasted because someone shot you with a gun or an arrow, or you fell out of the sky by accident - splat.....

In Second Life, you can die, but as you may know from reading my blog, you don't de-rez. You can only be killed in SIM that allows your health points to fall. When in a SIM that does, you will see a Heart on the menu bar. If you're shot while in this type of SIM or on Land that allows damage, you will suffer damage to your avatar. If you fall from the sky, you will die. As in real life, you cannot survive a fall from the heights you can fly.

What happens when you die in Second Life? Nothing. When you die, you are teleported back to your home location. All your hard work still intact. All your assets, still in your inventory. You lose nothing but the battle you were in. The only way to truly die in SL, is to die in RL. The only way to be killed is by not adhering to the Community Standards or the Terms Of Service. Even then, you might not be banned, but remember as I've said before. Know your audience.
